Welcome to Year 5 / Croeso i blwyddyn 5!

 

Please see a couple of reminders below:
 
PE:
Mondays and Wednesdays. 
Plain white t-shirt
Black jogging bottoms
Black PE shorts
Black pumps
Trainers or pumps for outdoor use
School tracksuit (optional)
Green fleece with full zip and logo (optional) to wear for PE on a cold day or as a coat for school * NOTE: school sweatshirt/cardigan will do just as well for PE if cold.
Jewellery ideally removed before school hours. Send in plasters if earrings cannot be removed please.

 

Homework

 

Please read regularly at home (with an adult if possible).

 

Snack - Snacks brought into school should be a piece of fruit or a vegetable (healthy snack).

 

Bottles - Water bottles can be brought in to school, filled only with water.

 

Reading Logs - Please bring in your reading log ON MONDAYS ONLY. You should read at home a minimum of 3x per week. 

 

Spelling Shed - Spelling shed spellings are set every Monday and pupils are expected to complete 6 games (minimum) by the following Friday. This is expected to be done in school and at home. 

 

Forest School - Forest school days will be on a termly rota across the school. This usually occurs on a Friday. Children only need to bring in a spare pair of trainers/wellies. PE kit is to be worn as normal. Please ensure your child has a warm, waterproof coat and hats and gloves when necessary. Forest school sessions take place in all weather conditions. Further information will be provided when available.

6th March- We're off to see the Wizard! A super trip to Llandudno for the Wizard of Oz!

Hello guys! 

 

All your home learning activities are below. We will both be accessible on Google Classroom all day to respond to your work and answer questions. 

If you do finish, Maths Shed and Spelling Shed are available for you to use and feel free to log into Scratch and maybe create a snow themed game?!

Starter- 9x table practice- make sure you are ready for a test Friday morning!

 

Main task

Watch the video to remind yourself of how to use short division.

Then choose one of the sheets to complete.

I recommend that you work on paper and upload a picture of your work. If this isn't possible, just type your answers onto a doc. You could bring your workings in to class on Friday.

 

Extension

Complete "Extra" sheet

or use a Random Number Generator to generate numbers and divide them by a divisor of your choice. Then check with a calculator.

Stone Stacking - we used natural materials from the Forest School area to create a stack.

24thNov- Class 12’s Fantastic inventions!

Thursday 16th Nov- Xplore! Wrexham- A really enjoyable day out. Excellent behaviour from all the children. Thankyou for a super trip!
