After the freezing weather last week we discussed liquids and solids. We talked about how water turned to ice and then back to water. The children linked this to their real world and asked if they could make some jelly!! The hardest thing was voting on which colour jelly to get. So we got a selection to make and taste!

We really enjoyed making lots of jelly we even tried mixing it all together to make a rainbow jelly - jeli enfys too.

The children were very excited to see the jelly from a solid turn into a liquid and then once it had been in the fridge to cool back in to a solid again. We used are welsh skills to sing a song about jelly and to state what colour we wanted to eat too.

After we tasted the jelly we had a class vote to decide which jelly was the favourite. We used a pictograms to help us understand data.

The favourite was ..... Jeli Enfys

This week was our class assembly and it just so happens to be on St Dwynwen’s Day. The children have been finding out all about why we celebrate this special day in Wales. They shared the story of Santes Dwynwen in our assembly and even learnt a special song in welsh too.

In Numeracy this week we have continued to look at money. We have been adding coins together to pat for toys. The children have really enjoyed the money song. They wanted to sing this at home too so please find the link to this below.

We have really enjoyed singing this money song about the coins f1p, 2p, 5p and 10p.

This weekend is the RSPB Birdwatch. We will be looking at birds next week in school, we will be collecting data, painting birds and making bird feeders. We will also be making Robots and understanding how they work too.

Please could your child bring in an empty yogurt pot to make their bird feeder and some recycling materials to make a robot.
