Our first week in Reception - What FUN !
It has been wonderful getting to know all the children this week. They have settled in so well. We have been counting forwards and backwards to 10 and singing a song all about zero.
They have been finding their names in the classroom and trying hard to write them in their books. They have also been getting familiar with their groups. I am very impressed with how well they tidy up too!
The children have enjoyed eating their lunch in the hall and have been getting used to playing on the big playground.
The children will be bringing their reading books home today. They are very excited and feeling very grown up. Please look at the books with your child and write in their record. Book bags and books need to be in school everyday. There are also sounds at the front of their Reading Records for them to look at with you too.
Next week wb 11.9.23
We will be looking at the Oxford Reading Tree characters, Biff, Chip, Kilper and Floppy. We will be using these to count and begin to recognise their names too. We will be focusing on the number 2. In our craft activities the children will be making their faces and talking about themselves including their facial features.
