Welcome to Reception. We hope your child is excited to start full time school and is looking forward to the year ahead. Reception class builds on the learning from Nursery class. There will be lots of learning through play and songs, group work and independent work. There will be a lot of practice at counting, number recognition, adding and subtracting, reading and writing.

Each day your child will bring home a reading book. Please hear your child read as often as possible and please write a comment in the reading log. In the front of the reading log you will also find letters/words to practise too. The book bag should be returned to school every morning. Each week your child will be heard reading at school once by the class teacher and once by the teaching assistant. The more you practise with your child, the more progress they will make. 

If you wish to discuss any matters with your child's teacher please feel free to see us during drop off or pick up times. You can also e mail the school and we will reply as soon as we can.

Please remember to order your child's lunch from home.

Each Monday please send a water bottle into school. These will stay in school until Friday. The water will be changed daily.

P.E days are Wednesday and Friday. Please send your child to school in their P.E kit including trainers.
