Class 3
It’s been an amazing first full week in Year 1. Firstly, a big thank you for all our plastic bottles, they have been very handy this week and the rest will be slowly turned into amazing creations, so expect a few back home at some point!
Well, in Year 1 this week we have been invaded by Monsters and most of our busy jobs have been focused on learning more about them. We used a story called ‘The Colour Monster’ by Anna Llenus and in it we meet a very cute monster who changes colour when they feel different feelings. The children have been using the colours the Monster changes into to describe their own feelings as they settle into their new class and routines. It’s tricky starting a new class and we are super proud of how well everyone is settling in.
Next week we will be beginning to look at our topic of ‘Heroes and Villains’. We know the children have been telling us how much they enjoyed learning about our colour Monsters and some children love Pokemon, so we think this is a good place to start.
