Class 3
What a fabulous week we have had. We have loved continuing our work on Diwali and we have worked on Rangoli patterns and have been designing our own Mehndi patterns too. We have enjoyed exploring light and talked about artificial and natural light around us. We have enjoyed making shields for our diva lamps using various materials, talking about opaque, transparent and translucent. We have read the story ‘Bear snores on’ and have sequenced the story using story maps. We have also had some wonderful forest school learning ideas for our outdoor learning next week from the book.
In maths we have been continuing our work on the part whole model and have been using the numbers to write additions and subtractions in different ways. We have continued our work on similarities and differences between ourselves and have used J2data on HWB to show our findings. In P.E we have really enjoyed our work with Jones and have loved creating an expressive dance to the tune Fireworks by Katie Perry.
Next week we are looking forward to our forest school day and we will be making and tasting white corn (popcorn) and black tea (these were made on a fire in our book The bear snores on). We will really be focusing on our Christmas play so please remember to learn your lines please. We will be looking at what advent is and starting to count down to Christmas by also putting up and decorating our class Christmas trees.
