Croeso i Flwyddyn 3…
We hope that you have had a lovely summer and that you are just as excited as we are for the new school year.
Here is some information that will hopefully help and guide you through the start of the year.
Items you will need in class.
- Pencil and blue pen.
- Ruler and rubber.
- Green pen.
These need to be able to fit into a small pencil case.
Some information about key days throughout the week. Our PE days will be Tuesday and Wednesday, we expect you to come into school in your PE kit, a white T-shirt and black shorts or jogging bottoms. If it is a cold day a Ewloe Green jumper will be required. Please note that earrings should be removed on these days or plasters if they can not be removed. We will also be having days where we are outdoors a lot so a change of footwear or different clothing may be required, but we will give you plenty of notice about these days.
Some of our expectations each week. We expect you to read at least three times a week at home to an adult, this can be recorded in your reading log and brought into school every Monday. We will also be setting spelling and maths challenges on SpellingShed and MathsShed, these will be set on a Monday and we would expect them to be completed by the following Monday.
We will be sending home a Tedi Cymraeg (Welsh teddy) each week, with a different child. This is so your child can practise some Welsh patterns at home. We would love to see what the teddy gets up to over the weekend. We would like you to share some Welsh sentences on Google Classroom to share what the teddy did. We will post some helpful Welsh patterns on our Google Classroom page. You are welcome to share photos if you wish.
Please ensure all your child's belongings are clearly labeled throughout the year. This will help return their items and reduce our lost property.
Finally, if you are bringing a snack for break time can you please make sure it is a healthy snack and a bottle of water in a reusable bottle, we are a healthy schools advocate.
We are certain you are going to have a fantastic year and we can’t wait to get learning.
Diolch yn fawr iawn,
Mrs Wade-Jones and Mr White
