Is it too late to wish you all a very Happy New Year?!
It’s great to be all back together, dare I say with a spring in our step. This half term we are investigating all things Fairy Tales and Traditional Stories. We have looked at characters and plot, next week we will think about what magical items our hero might need or use. The children will also need to imagine the perfect sidekick for their story. So far we have had a small selection of frogs, some princesses and the odd boy made from wood. I think these stories are going to be even better than Grimm’s!
In Maths, we are looking at deepening our understanding of more than and less than. This may sound quite straightforward but as with everything in Year 1, we like t add a twist to challenge our budding mathematicians.
Next week includes Dydd Gwyl Santes Dwynwen, our Welsh saint of love. We will be learning all about her life, legacy in Welsh folklore and where we can go to remember her. I’m sure this will lead to lots of hearts coming home for you to share.
As always, thank you for all your support, Mrs. Hughes and Mrs. Marten
