What a fabulous first week back we have had! We have really enjoyed sharing our half term news and have had lots to celebrate, house moves, new pets and new babies too! We have been delighted to see that the children have really developed their speaking and listening stills when talking about their news and they have wowed us with their super sentence writing! Well done everyone. We are focusing on reading key words and have enjoyed using key word paper chains to build super sentences. We have explored the festival Diwali and talked about the significance of colour to festivals and celebrations and have made the most amazing Diva lamps. We of course have enjoyed talking about Bonfire night and Guy Fawkes too! In Maths we have explored addition word problems and have created some of our own addition problems using the app Book Creator too.
Next week we are moving onto exploring subtraction word problems and continuing to explore strategies to support us with our problem solving. We will also be continuing our work on colours, continuing to explore festivals. In Health and Well-being we will be looking at inclusivity and thinking all the amazing ways we are all different. We will also enjoy the story ‘The Smeds and the Smoos’. Please remember to wear odd socks on Monday and something yellow/spotty/Pudsey themed on Friday!
