This week the children have been finding out all about snails. They have been on a snail hunt around school and knew exactly the right places to look to find them.

In our literacy books the children then used their knowledge of familiar words to write a sentence about snails.

We have been thinking of lots of things we want to find out through our topic this half term. We used question words to help us.

In our Numeracy session we looked at how are bean plants had grown and we used cubes to measure these. It is amazing how tall they are getting. The children are looking forward to planting these out next week in our class flower bed.

In P.E this week we have been practising races for our Sport's Day. We have been looking at the field where we will be running and it was such a lovely afternoon that we had a little roll down the hill. What fun!

We have been using our fine motor skills to make lots of lovely flowers for our Garden Centre. We used some lovely colours and talked about how we made them too.

Next week will be focusing on the story of ‘The Very Hungry Caterpillar’ by Eric Carle. The children will be learning all about the life cycle of a butterfly. They will also be creating their own diary of the story too.
