Year 3 have been learning about Diwali, for art this week they have made their own Diva Lamps using clay. Take a look at their work so far, next week we will be painting them.
Children have made their own tortoise based on the story Esio Trot. They used a paper plate for his shell. Take a look at their amazing creations.
The children created some artwork inspired by Beatriz Milhazes, who is a Brazilian artist. They used different sized circles to draw around, then water colours and drawing inks to add the colour. They look amazing and bright!
We have painted our 3D models, the children put lots of thought into what colours to use. Da iawn year 3!
Thank you to all who brought in some recycled materials!
Year 3 have had a very messy art project to do. They have researched the artist Michelle Reader, who makes sculptures from recycled materials. They have then had the busy job of making different 3D sculptures of places in Ewloe and Wales, the groups have chosen to make Ewloe Castle, Ewloe Church, Snowdon and of course the Welsh dragon. Each group have assembled the recycled materials to make the models and then covered them in plaster. However the group making the dragon have had the tricky job of using modeling wire. We have begun our making process this week, and our final pictures of our models will be up soon!
