FREE ONLINE READING RESOURCES:

What a wonderful two weeks it has been with our little stars! Both Mrs Lincoln-Jones and Miss Hughes are going to miss our classes next week during transition!!
Remember, you will still be coming into class and going home at the same times next week but your new teachers will be collecting you in the mornings.
Mrs Lincoln-Jones and Miss Hughes will pop our heads in to say hello each day - we will miss you too much not too!!

We will still be available via email if you need us next week whilst at home! Have a super weekend and enjoy your week in Year 2!!!

Hugs, Mrs L-J and Miss Hughes xxx

A huge well done to Finn, Oliver and Molly in class 4! Not only did they complete their 11 mile bike ride to Chester Zoo, they raised over £3000!! Wow. What an achievement, you should be so proud of yourselves. They even made it into the leader too, have a read below...

One week left until some of you return to school! We cannot wait to see some of you and have a good catch up. School looks a little bit different at the moment but this is just to keep us nice and safe, we can still have lots of fun! If you are wondering what school might look like, take a look at the video below!

Week 12 Welsh dancing challenge!!

What a busy week it has been! Lots of fantastic work about the zoo and it was wonderful to hear how many of you have been busy fundraising to help the animals.

We were all so happy to hear that the zoo will be opening again soon!

Well done to those who sent in their videos of their brilliant animal dancing - we think you are all Elephan-tastic!!!!

Week 9 Welsh reading challenge!!

Well this week we thought we could mix it up a little and read a story together instead of singing!

We were not to sure if the books would be a little hard...but WOW!

You were all BENDIGEDIG!

We were very impressed with your pronunciation of the words!
I think for the next reading challenge we will need a trickier book!

What challenge would you like next?

A reading challenge or a singing challenge?

Please message your teacher to let them know!

Darllen - Ar y mat + Yn y car!

Week 8 Welsh song challenge!!

This week has been tricky for lots of you and for Miss Hughes and Mrs Lincoln-Jones too. It has been a long time since we have seen you all and we miss you so much.

Here is our special video, this made us cry a little as it brought back lots of happy memories of singing it altogether in class. Its not quite the same without being altogether.

Sending you all big virtual hugs!!!

Class 4 have created a video which I am sure you would all love to see. Click the link below (Ewloe Green TV), then scroll down to school work and click on Class 4 - Rainbow Video. Thank you so much to all involved in putting the video together, it really put a smile on all of our faces!

Daily tasks for children to complete:

  • Reading (school books, or home books) - possibly write reviews, alternate endings, favourite character descriptions etc. Children should read every day, even just a couple of pages.
  • Spellodrome - class teachers will add different word lists every Monday as normal for your children to learn each week.
  • Daily exercise - keep active! We have done lots of work on Kids Bop dancing and Joe Wicks Body Coach exercise videos - I will add the links below. Do your daily mile if possible, or even just a nice walk!

The Body Coach

...is a fitness coach for children and adults. Here is a link to his youtube channel (https://www.youtube.com/user/thebodycoach1) where he will be posting PE VIDEOS LIVE, DAILY 9AM STARTING MONDAY. LETS KEEP FIT EVERYONE!

A message from Joe - "I produce so much free fitness content online. I am holding LIVE PE lessons at 9am Monday to Friday on my YouTube channel for children of all ages. For 30 minutes a day I can take over and inspire and energise the kids to get active, bounce around and have fun. You can even join in with the kids. Please share away. This is going to help millions of children and parents feel happier for 30 minutes and beyond everyday!"

Accessing Hwb - great for digital skills!

On Friday 20th March, the children were provided with their HWB login (given inside their report envelope). If you are self isolating, and do not have your login - please email your child's class teacher. Hwb is a fantastic resource for the children to use and access through the internet. There are lots of resources and programmes that the children could use easily on an iPad/laptop/phone etc. Once logged into Hwb, click on Just2easy. Let your children explore with this, with some guidance. If you need any further guidance on this, again, please email us - we're happy to help! If for any reason, your child's login is not working - email us and we can get this sorted.

Below are some examples of work the children could complete on j2data:

Handwriting
Over this past term, children have made huge progress with their handwriting! Please encourage your child to continue to write using precursive handwriting as they are currently doing so well! Children should practise their handwriting daily, we will focus on a new letter every week, as we usually do. Please see the link below for the formation guidance.
