Always Aiming High – Anelu’n Uchel O Hyd

Year 1

During school closures, both year 1 teachers will be working together from home to ensure work is being provided for your children on a daily basis. Below are stars for each day where you will find THREE tasks for your child to complete each day (1x literacy, 1x numeracy 1x phonics). We will upload work ready for the following day. There are extension tasks, these are not compulsory. If your child would like to be challenged further, please complete the extension tasks. Please record any work in the exercise books provided and feel free to share your work with us via email. We would love to see what you are getting up to! Our working hours are 08:30 - 16:30 Monday - Friday as normal and we will respond to all emails within these hours. If you have any questions or need any support/guidance about tasks, please email us.

Our email addresses are:

Class 3 -

Class 4 -

Thank you for your continued support!

Daily tasks for children to complete:

  • Reading (school books, or home books) - possibly write reviews, alternate endings, favourite character descriptions etc. Children should read every day, even just a couple of pages.
  • Spellodrome - class teachers will add different word lists every Monday as normal for your children to learn each week.
  • Daily exercise - keep active! We have done lots of work on Kids Bop dancing and Joe Wicks Body Coach exercise videos - I will add the links below. Do your daily mile if possible, or even just a nice walk!

A message from Joe - "I produce so much free fitness content online. I am holding LIVE PE lessons at 9am Monday to Friday on my YouTube channel for children of all ages. For 30 minutes a day I can take over and inspire and energise the kids to get active, bounce around and have fun. You can even join in with the kids. Please share away. This is going to help millions of children and parents feel happier for 30 minutes and beyond everyday!"

Accessing Hwb - great for digital skills!

On Friday 20th March, the children were provided with their HWB login (given inside their report envelope). If you are self isolating, and do not have your login - please email your child's class teacher. Hwb is a fantastic resource for the children to use and access through the internet. There are lots of resources and programmes that the children could use easily on an iPad/laptop/phone etc. Once logged into Hwb, click on Just2easy. Let your children explore with this, with some guidance. If you need any further guidance on this, again, please email us - we're happy to help! If for any reason, your child's login is not working - email us and we can get this sorted.

Over this past term, children have made huge progress with their handwriting! Please encourage your child to continue to write using precursive handwriting as they are currently doing so well! Children should practise their handwriting daily, we will focus on a new letter every week, as we usually do. Please see the link below for the formation guidance.
