We have had a very busy week. We have been thinking about long and short sounds in music and writing our own music patterns and performing them. We have been sketching animals and sorting animals according to whether they grew inside an egg or inside their mum. We made lift-the-flap books (the children really enjoyed these), we had our photos taken and we did data handling of French pets. In our maths activities we have been looking at the difference between two numbers and writing subtraction sums. Every day when we line up to come in we recite the 2 5 and 10 times tables. We listened to the story of Noah and The Ark and we had more cricket training with Rachel. We have heard the story from The Bible about how Jesus chose his disciples and we have been thinking about and writing kind words about a friend. Busy!Busy!Busy! smiley

In school we are looking at how animals are born. Can you look at the pictures below and sort them into two sets -

animals which hatch from an egg

animals which grow inside their mother and are born.

We have been looking at subtraction. Can you work with someone at home and each think of a one digit number? Who has the largest? Smallest? Can you subtract these numbers, remembering to start with the largest number? Now explore what would happen if you subtract 2 odd numbers? What about if you subtract 2 even numbers?

Challenge - can you subtract a one digit number from a 2 digit number?

Can you learn the Welsh colour song?
