This week in Literacy we have been discussing what healthy foods we like and dislike. The children have drawn a picture of their favourite healthy food and with support we’re able to write a sentence too. They have also been finding out all about Harvest and have been pretending to be farmers gathering the crops on a Combine Harvester. They have also been looking a Scarecrows and singing and dancing to ‘I’m a Dingle Dangle Scarecrow’. They have also listened to the story ‘The Scarecrow’s Weeding’ by Julia Donaldson. They have also made some Scarecrows using their cutting skills. They have been visiting our new liabrary and looking at a book all about Space.
In Numeracy the children have been collecting data and representing this using a pictogram. They have been finding out which healthy snack is the most popular in the class and we’re able to look at the data and discuss what they had found out. The children’s challenge this week was to make a rocket using 2D shapes.
In craft this week the children have been making some lovely shapes in the style of a stained glass window. They have been talking about lots of shapes, colours and patterns as they created their work.
Thank you for all your support and contributions for our collection for the Flintshire Food bank.
Have a lovely weekend !

Building our Space Rocket
We Love singing this one and thinking about all the crops that are being harvested.
The children enjoyed using their skills to collect data and found out what everybody’s favourite fruit was.
Thank you so much for your kind donations!
