What a fun and festive week we have had! We have been busy doing lots of Christmasy activities which is making us even more excited for the big day! We have loved playing in our ‘Santa’s Grotto’ pretending to be the big man and delivering presents to our friends. Every morning we open our calendar and Mrs Jones chooses who gets to eat the treat, then we check Annalise’s hair bow to see how many days are left until Christmas! What a fantastic way to count down the days to Christmas!
In Literacy we read the story ‘Dear Father Chritsmas’ and decided that we would like to write our own letters to Santa. First we looked through Argos’ ‘Book of Dreams’ to see what we would like for Christmas, there was so much to choose from! Then we wrote a letter to Santa to tell him that we have been good this year and to let his elves know what we would like for Christmas. Mrs Jones has sent our letters to Santa, we hope he gets them in time. Maybe we might get one back?
During our Numeracy sessions we have been practising reading and writing numbers to 20! Miss C played a fun game with us where we had to work out which number she had taken away and hid. You could play the game at home by making some number cards to 20 then spread them out, remove one and see if a family member can work out which number is missing.
Literacy - Christmas CVC word building e.g bed, hat, red
Numeracy - Number bonds to 10 e.g 1+9=10
Topic - Lots of fun Christmas crafts
We would like to say a HUGE Thank You to you all for the lovely gifts that you have sent in for all the staff in Class 1. We very much appreciate all of the support you have given us and couldn’t do it without you!
Have a lovely weekend
Mrs Jones & Miss C
