We have been busy learning about fossils. We have learnt about what they are, how they have formed and what they look like. We have also learnt about the famous paleontologist Mary Anning. We learnt about all the different fossils that she has found.
In language, we have been learning about shape poems. We have been using our knowledge of adjectives to write shape poems about diplodocus and stegosauruses. We have also learnt about similes and used these in our poems. We have learnt verses of a dinosaur poem and made actions. We have also been following instructions to draw a dinosaur.
In maths this week, we have been having fun estimating the number of dinosaurs in the bucket. We have also been practising our halving skills.
We will be learning about dinosaurs that lived in Wales and will be labelling them on a map of the United Kingdom. We will also be designing our own Welsh dinosaur.
In language, we will be exploring letter writing. We will be writing to Rex about what we have learnt about this half term as well as helping dinosaur Tiny write a letter. We will also be practising using similes.
In maths, we will be exploring counting in groups of 10 practically. We will also be practising our estimating skills.
Thank you so much for your continued support.
