Hello everyone! This week in maths we have continued been looking at time. This week we focused on 'half past'. We have found out that if the big hand points to the 6, it means that it is half past. We found out that we call it half past because the big hand is half way around the clock. We have also looked at different times of the day such as morning, afternoon, and evening. We ordered activities that we do in the day such as waking up, eating lunch, doing homework into what we do in the morning, what we do in the afternoon, and what we do in the evening.
In literacy this week we have looked at the story of The Three Little Pigs. We have found out that all stories have a beginning, a middle, and an end. We retold the story of the Three Little Pigs by splitting the story up into its beginning, middle, and end. We have also been building the three little pigs houses to see if we can blow them down. We thought about why the straw and stick house did get blown down and why the wolf could not blow down the brick house.
In topic this week we have been looking at the story of Goldilocks and the Three Bears. We have been writing a recipe for making porridge using sequencing words such as first, next, then, and finally. We have also designed our own bowl of porridge and wrote about what we would like to have on our porridge. We thought about how Goldilocks might have made the three bears feel after sneaking into their house. We have written an apology letter from Goldilocks to the bears
