What another busy week we have had! This week has been all about transition into year 1! We have met our new teacher Mr Swede and are so excited to be in his class next year! We have been busy writing all about ourselves and what we enjoy doing in school to help him with getting to know us.
We have enjoyed carrying out an experiment with Miss C to see which material makes the best boat. We had so much fun testing them and finding items that sink and float. We found that the plastic carton made the best boat as it floated and it was waterproof. It got very messy but we had lots of fun!
In Numeracy we have been investigating lots of ways to make 10. We revisited number bonds to 10 but we were super clever and found lots of other ways to make 10 by using 3 or more numbers! We used the numicon to help us to investigate how we can add lots of smaller numbers to make 10 e.g. 3 + 1 + 6 = 10. We knocked Mrs Jones’ socks off with how clever we are. We also practised the skill of making repeating patterns in lots of different ways using 3 or more colours!
A huge well done to all of the children for such an amazing effort on sports day! They put their all into the races and are all winners in our eyes 🏃🏃♀️🏅🏆
Literacy - We will be reading the story of ‘The Rainbow Fish’ and talking about what makes a good friend.
