This week we have been continuing to learn about ‘Jim and the Beanstalk’. We have been carrying out our science investigation and learning about temperature. 

 

Language

In Language this week we have been rewriting the story of Jim and the Beanstalk with the characters we created last week. The children have thought of brilliant ways to put their characters in the story! We have also been doing some creative writing. The children have thought about what they would like at the top of their own beanstalk. They have been very creative and have thought of some interesting ideas. The children have also written a book review for Jim and the Beanstalk. 


 

Maths 

In Maths this week we have been exploring temperature. The children have been discussing the different words we can use to describe temperature and then have been doing lots of different practical activities. The children have written about the temperature of different cups of water. They have also been to different places in the school and have discussed what words they would use to describe the temperature. 

We have also revisited weighing this week. The children have been weighing items from around the classroom independently and have recorded how many beans they weigh on Seesaw. 

 

Topic

In our topic we have been carrying out our friction investigation. The children have thoroughly enjoyed doing the investigation and have had some interesting findings about which material would get Jim down the beanstalk the fastest. The children have enjoyed starting to record their plant diaries which they will continue to complete over the next few weeks. The children have also been reviewing our topic this week. They have thought about what they have learnt as well as what their targets are for next half term.
