Always Aiming High – Anelu’n Uchel O Hyd

Week 5

WOW! What a fantastic week! We have met the mood monsters this week who have helped us to talk about our feelings and how to help others. The children have been spreading their happiness to all of their friends. This week in P.E we did the Daily Mile and walked all the way around the school grounds....4 times!!!

Our special skill this week in Numeracy was naming and describing 2D shapes. We looked at how many sides each shape has and if they had any corners. We played the game 'Guess the Shape' which the children all loved. See if they can explain it to you (Mrs Jones hides a shape and they have to ask questions to figure it out). We even had a little jingle which we sing all day long...Guess the shape, guess the shape, guess the shape,  GUESS THE SHAPE! Can you find aby shapes around the house?

In our Topic lessons we have been learning all about Harvest and why we have donated our tins to a charity. We also made some scarecrows out of 2D shapes. Can you remember why the famers use scarecrows? The clue is in their name!

Next Week:

Literacy - Letter of the week 'd'. We will be talking about what we want to be when we grow up.

Numeracy - Number of the Week '5'. We will be ordering numbers 1-10.

Topic - Looking at People Who Help us.

Thank you for all of your Harvest donations and for your support with #HelloYellow Day! It was lovely to see all of the children in yellow and spreading happiness.

We hope you have a lovely weekend!

Mrs Jones & Miss C

Can you guess what we are feeling by our faces?

#HelloYellow Day! We used emojis to talk about of feelings and made emoji badges.

The children have worked so hard to learn our Harvest song ‘Cauliflowers Fluffy’. This was our first take!
