Wow! What a busy week it has been! We have really enjoyed our Julia Donaldson week reading our favourite stories written by her. We didn’t realise just how many wonderful books she has written!
In Literacy we have had lots of fun role playing the story of the Gruffalo! We thought the mouse was very cunning and the Gruffalo was big and scary. We have enjoyed our Julia Donaldson book area where we have played with puppets and re enacted a range of stories. We have also made lots of lovely crafts for all of the different stories we have read. Our favourites have been; The Gruffalo’s Child, The Snail and the Whale, Room on the Broom and What the Ladybird Heard.
In Numeracy we have been super busy practising the skill of subtraction and taking away. We found using a number line to help us to count backwards really helpful and using multi link cubes to practically see how taking away leaves us with less. We loved playing the Subtraction Interactive Game on the big whiteboard and we even got to play it on the iPads (see link below).
In Topic we have been doing lots of crafts for our big story display and have blown Mrs Jones away with how clever we are with our sounding and blending of CVC words. We will be sending some tricky word cards home with you next week to practise over the Easter holidays.
Literacy - We will be learning all about the Easter story,
Numeracy - We will be collecting data and putting it into a bar chart.
Topic - Lots of fun Easter craft!
We we just want to say how wonderful the children all looked for World Book Day and were so funny telling their jokes! We had a great time watching Ewloe Green The Masked Reader andntrying to figure out which teacher was hiding behind the mask. If you want to watch them at home then click on the Ewloe Green TV option on our main menu. Thank you so much for all of your continued support! The children are doing amazingly well and we are super proud of them!
We we hope you have a lovely weekend!
