We have had lots of fun this week celebrating World Book Day and Red Nose Day. The children came up with some amazing jokes!
This week in Language we have been learning all about advertisements. We have learnt what an advertisement should have to make it a good advertisement. During the week we have made our own advertisement for our class book Supertato. As we celebrated World Book Day this week, we also enjoyed picking our favourite character and writing a character description.
This week in Maths we have been doing more work to do with measuring. We have enjoyed measuring different superhero objects using rulers and centimetres. The children have also had lots of fun measuring each other with different objects such as blocks, cubes and hands. The children have been very creative!
This week we have been spending a lot of time focusing on learning about real life superheroes and the people who help us. We have written about different people who help us and how they help us. The children also picked a real life superhero that they would like to be and wrote about how they help people. We even enjoyed a video call with PC Woodworth this week! He spoke about the people who help us, what they do and what they look like. He also spoke with us about safe places to play. The children have also been busy designing capes to make next week!
Next week is the last week of term. The children will be thinking about what they have learnt in the Superheroes topic and making their group capes. As Easter is just around the corner, we will be doing lots of fun Easter activities. We will be learning about the Easter story, designing Easter eggs and making Easter cards. In Maths we will be focusing on subtraction.
