Wow, what a fantastic week! We have had so much fun today playing lots of games in P.E such as 'What's the time Mr Wolf', 'Chinese Whispers' and 'Hide and Seek'. We managed to get from 'Roses are red' to 'Three cakes' then to 'EGGS!' in our game of Chinese Whispers! You can also play these games at home!
This week in Literacy we have been writing about our families, practising spelling our names and beginning to sound the first few High Frequency Words; mum, dad, I and am. We have aced our letter of the week, letter 'a' for apple.
We have focused on the skill of repeating patterns in our Numeracy sessions. The children were brilliant at using this skill in all areas of the classroom, such as, making patters on peg boards, making multilink snakes, completing the teddy bear patterns and using the dabbers to make their own pattern pictures. They really enjoyed playing the 'Topmarks' online interactive game completing the shape pattern train, please find the link below if you would like to play this at home.
In our Topic sessions we have learnt all about our main organs of the body; brain, heart, lungs, stomach and intestines and the important job each one has to keep out bodies running! See if they are able to explain to you what each organs does.
Literacy - Our letter of the week is the letter 's'. We will be tuning into on our feelings next week and talking about what makes us happy, sad etc. We have our mood monsters ready to help us with discussing all of our different feelings and emotions.
Numeracy - Our number of the week is 'Number 4'. We will be investigating 2D shapes and their properties. You could go on a shape hunt around your house to see what shapes you can find.
We hope you have a lovely weekend and stay safe!
