We have been busy learning about the body parts of dinosaurs and thinking about why some dinosaurs had different body parts. We have also been getting very creative this week. We have had fun making dinosaurs out of different shapes as well as making dinosaur skeletons from paper straws.
In language, we have been doing lots of different activities to do with our book: Harry and the Bucketful of Dinosaurs. We have enjoyed acting out the story as well as writing about what the dinosaurs got up to when Harry left them on the train. We have also been practising using adjectives through describing the characters.
In maths this week, we have been learning about doubling. We have been doubling dinosaur feet and using paint to double numicon. We have also been practising our number bonds to 10.
We have had lots of fun in PE this week. We have put our dinosaur shapes into sequences and did some dinosaur yoga.
We will be exploring what different dinosaurs ate and how we know if they were a carnivore, herbivore or an omnivore from looking at their body parts.
In language, we will be doing more activities on Harry and the Bucketful of Dinosaurs. We will be making ‘Missing!’ posters to help Harry find his dinosaurs. We will also be using the app Chatterpix to talk about how Harry might have felt when he lost his dinosaurs. We will be putting the story in the correct order.
In maths, we will be exploring halving. This will be through sharing toy dinosaurs and doing a colouring activity.
Thank you so much for your continued support.
