In literacy this week we have continued looking at the Supertato books because we really enjoy reading them in class. We have been looking at speech in writing and how this is shown through speech bubbles. We had a go at writing in speech bubbles for Supertato, Evil Pea, and the other veggies in the supermarket. The children really enjoyed getting into the characters of Supertato and Evil Pea. We thought of lots of amazing things to say!
In maths this week we have been looking at money. We have been looking at coins from 1p all the way to £2 coins. We learnt what each coin looked like and that 1p is the smallest in value and that £2 is the biggest in value. We have been drawing around the coins and writing what coin it is in order of value. We did great at recognising our coins!
In topic this week we have been planning a Science investigation. We found out that Captain America wants our help as he has decided that he wants a cape like Batman and Superman! He has given us the task of finding the best material to make his cape out of. He also told us that he wants his cape to be aerodynamic. We learnt that aerodynamic means how air moves around objects. We decided that we will test four different materials for Captain America's cape: metal, felt, paper, and plastic. We made predications on which material will be best ready for our experiment next week!
In forest school this week we had two Superhero activities. The first activity was to make our own superhero logo using outdoor objects. We used sticks, leaves, stones, and chalk to make our superhero logo. The second activity was to build a Superhero lair for the superhero figures. The lair had to hide the superhero from the villains and had to be able to defend an attack! We had lots of fun in forest schools this week.
We looked AMAZING in our costumes today! In class 3 we had a fashion show of our amazing costumes, pictures of this are below Thank you for all the money raised!
