What a SUPER week we have had! This week has been all about SUPERHEROES! We have loved channeling our inner super powers and found out that we can be all be heroes but together we can defeat anything!
In Literacy we have been reading the adventures of Supertato and the pesky Evil Pea! Remember to check your freezers to make sure no peas have escaped as they like to cause lots of mischief! We have used our super thinking and writing powers all about our individual super powers. We have lots of children who are super kind, super helpful, super speedy, super strong and super friendly. We have loved making our own superhero masks and disguising ourselves from the enemy!
In Numeracy we have been learning all about time! We looked at lots of different clocks and talked about the little hand for the hour and the big hand for the minutes. We have learnt a song to help us with this (see link below). We have been super time keepers completing tasks against a countdown timer to see if we can beat it. We really impressed Miss Jones by drawing the hands on a clock to show different times, some of us even did half past! We love playing 'What's the time Mr Wolf'? Can you play this at home?
In the building area we have been busy building our own superhero vehicles and headquarters. We have also been super crafty with making our own Supertatos and Evil Peas by painting potatoes and apples and printing them on paper.
Next Week -
Literacy - We will be looking at the Author Julia Donaldson and reading some of her amazing stories.
Numeracy - We will be practising the skill of subtraction and taking away.
Topic - Julia Donaldson stories and World Book Day.
Friday 19th March - World Book Day! You are welcome to come to school dressed as your favourite book character. If you have the book at home them you are welcome to bring it into school to share with the class (just make sure names are in them). It is also Red Nose Day. If your child would like to be recorded telling a joke then please send a joke into school with them and we will record it here.
We have made it and another week done! We are SUPER proud of how hard the children are working and progressing.
Finally.......HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY to you wonderful Mummies and our real life heroes! We hope you have a lovely day and a well deserved pamper.
Thank you for your continued support.
