Week beginning 15-11-21

This week the children have been very excited as they learnt about anti- bullying week and wearing odd socks.

They have also bee n learning about the festival of Diwali. They have been making the puppets from the story about Rama and Sita and using clay to make a Diya lamp. The children have also been tasting Indian food, learning some Indian dancing, making Mehndi patterns and building the Taj Mahal too.

In Numeracy the children have been using the language of one more and one less in their number sequences. They have been ordering lots of numbers around the classroom and talking about one more or one less of a given number.

They have also enjoyed using Bee-Bot. They have been learning about how to program him and have used lots of directional language to get him to specific numbers on a grid.

In Literacy this week the children have been working in their groups to create a group poem all about colours. They then illustrated their poems and discussed what they had written with each other.
