What a busy week we have had! This week in Literacy we have been looking at the characters from the Oxford Reading Tree Family and recognising their names. We have also been on the hunt for the letter 'm' and had a go at writing the letter m in our new handwritng books. This week we red the story of 'The Boy and the Rainbow. We learnt all about the colours of the rainbow and have made lots of beautiful rainbow arts and crafts! We had so much fun when Mrs Price got the parachute out. We were so strong at holding it high up in the sky, we were even able to run underneath it!
In Numeracy we have been doing lots of counting up to 10 and matching numbers using Numicon, multilink cubes and pom poms to help. We have been number detectives looking for our number of the week 'Number 2'.
Topic: Mirror mirror on the wall......We have looked at ourselves in the mirror and how our features are all different. Miss c helped us to make a paper plate version of ourselves which are now on our 'Welcome to Reception' display.
Literacy - Letter of the week 'a'. We will be talking about our families and practicing our pencil control writing/tracing the words mum, dad, nan etc.
Numeracy - Number of the week 'Number 3' and looking at making a repeating pattern.
Topic - Finding out about our organs and where we think they might be inside our bodies.
If you would like to support your child's learning then you could have a go at drawing the letter/number of the week or playing a game of eye spy.
We hope you have a lovely weekend!
