WOW, what a fast week it has been and ram packed full of FUN! From our amazing school trip to introducing two new slimy members to class 1, thank you Ava for bringing your snails in to show us.

We have been learning all about plants this week and what they need to grow; water, light and the right temperature. We have all put a bean in a zippy bag , placed it in the sunlight and given them some water to see if it will grow. We were super surprised to see that some of the beans have started to grow only two days into the investigation! We can’t wait to see what happens over the weekend.

We have really enjoyed learning all about plants and carrying out our bean investigations so much so that we decided to carry out our own experiment. As a class we decided that we wanted to see what would happen if we put a bean in a dark place. We predicted that it wouldn’t grow because plants need light to grow, we can't wait to see what has happened over the weekend!

In Numeracy this week we have been practising the skill of measuring using beans! First We had to estimate how many beans tall we thought the beanstalks were and then use the real beans to measure. We were great at doing this and our estimations were almost spot on! We have loved reading lots of stories about magic beans and ginormous beanstalks!

What a super busy we have had! We have also been making lots of beautiful flower art, painting snails and making some lovely snail paper plate crafts.

Next week:

Literacy - The Hungry Caterpillar!
Numeracy - Revising the skill of addition and subtraction.

Topic - Van Gough art work - The sunflower

Finally we would like to say a huge well done to the children for their impeccable behaviour whist on our school trip! They filled us with so much pride and made it such a pleasure to take them out of school for an enriching learning experience.

We hope you all have a wonderful weekend! Thank you for all of your support.
