The children have learnt a little song for their Dads or male role models for Father's Day.
This week we have enjoyed starting our new topic and had lots of fun on Sports Day.
This week in Language we have been exploring our book Rumble in the Jungle further. We have had fun picking a jungle animal and making a rhyming poem verse in our groups. The children have thought of some brilliant ideas. The children have also picked a jungle animal and have written clues describing the animal for other people to try to guess. We have also been reflecting on the year. The children have written two stars (two things that they have enjoyed/learnt this year) and a wish (something that they would like to improve next year) for their end of year reports.
In Maths we have been recapping telling the time on an analogue clock as well as learning about telling the time to o’clock and half past on a digital clock. The children have enjoyed playing games such as dominoes as well as reading an analogue clock and writing the digital time. For our challenge this week the children have been practising place value through playing fun games.
In Topic, the children have thought about what we already know about the jungle and have written questions about what they would like to find out this half term. The children thought of some very interesting questions. We have also been preparing for Father’s Day. They have written cards, made gifts, drawn pictures and learnt a song.
