We have had a busy first week back, we have had such a good week that we are giving the children Monday off! This half term we have seen the children return rather more grown up, they have come back with some great ideas for our new Growing topic, they have told me what they already know and have asked the questions they want to find out in the next three weeks.
We have been busy in Maths learning about 3D shapes, we have investigated the properties of the shapes and we have been trying to build really tall towers with them.
In language we have been reading The Very Hungry Caterpillar and the children have written their own food diaries about a few days in the week. They have been looking at diaries and what they have to make them a diary.
In PE we have started our sports day practice ready for after half term, the children have really enjoyed racing.
We had fun in forest school finding all the mini beasts we could, as it was raining we found lots of worms and a few woodlice.
Next week we will be learning about the life-cycle of the butterfly and planting some different plants. We will be doing some work about Jack and the Beanstalk, we will be making story maps and using the app Story Buddy to make our own books.
In maths we will be learning about weight and using the scales to balance objects.
