This week in language we have been making Father’s day cards. They have been getting their feet a little bit messy for this. We hope you like what they have created next week.
We have been spending time listening to our readers and recording how well they are doing.
They have enjoyed making animal prints of their favourite jungle animal. They have used oil pastels for this. They have thought about shading the colours together for a more natural look.
In math we have been recapping how to partition numbers. We have thought about how many tens and ones each number has. We have used the numicon to help us see what our numbers look like.
They have been playing a bit of noughts and crosses with the different numbers. Thinking about how many tens and ones each number has.
We have had a go with halving and doubling numbers as a challenge. The children have had block towers to build. They have either needed to halve the number of blocks or double the number of blocks to complete the tower.
This week is Science week. As a school we have taken part in the same investigation. ‘Does our shoe size, gender, height or eye colour affect how far we can jump?’. We have planned how we will complete the investigation. We then took part in the investigation and finally we wrote our conclusion. Next week we are looking forward to starting our new topic ‘Rumble in the Jungle’.
