This week we have really enjoyed being able to talk to all the parents. Thank you so much once again for all your support.
The children have been enjoying learning about Easter this week.
In our language we have been reflecting on our topic. The children have thought about what they have learnt over our Superheroes topic and what target they want to work on next half term.
They have designed their own Easter egg, filling it with symbols of Easter. Such as the cross, palm leaves, chicks and eggs. They have also enjoyed watching an assembly hosted by Mr Slatter. He told them the story of Easter and why we celebrate this time.
The children have enjoyed a challenge of writing speech bubbles for Supertato. They used the Supertato’s they made previously. They thought about what Supertato would say.
In maths this week we have been focusing on the tricky skill of taking away. We have been using a few methods. We have used cubes, number lines and number squares to count backwards. The children have enjoyed exploring the methods and finding which one they prefer.
They have been playing the subtraction game. Working out subtractions and finding totals.
They have been challenged to finding out the subtraction answers so they could colour the flower by numbers.
We have really enjoyed making our Easter cards during topic this week.
The children have written an Easter acrostic poem, thinking about what symbolises Easter.
They have also enjoyed making their capes that they designed last week. These have turned out very colourful and full of interesting ideas.
We have also enjoyed an Easter egg hunt to finish the week off!
Enjoy your Easter break. Thank you again for all your support this half term.
