Numeracy - one of my favourite animals in the story is an octopus! Look at the pictures below - can you choose a design and make an octopus and make a 3 colour repeating pattern on as many tentacles as you can? You might want to finger paint spots, use your crayons or felts, stamps of some sort, or string/pipe cleaners and beads if you have any! Another idea is to loop paper chains, or use sequins or other craft bits. Try a different combination of colours on each one!
Challenge - could you try some repeating patterns of 4?
Literacy/Science - It's time for an experiment! All you need is a jug, some salt, an egg and water! Read and follow the instructions below. What do you think will happen?
Task - What did you find out? Write a sentence to describe what happened. Was this what you had predicted?
Our sound of the day is ‘o-e’. – Phone home.
Task – Join Geraldine the Giraffe as we learn the new sound o-e. Can you think of simple CVC words and then add the magic ‘e’ on the end to make the letter ‘o’ say its name instead of its sound.
Eg. Mot - mote
cop - cope
mop - mope
