Always Aiming High – Anelu’n Uchel O Hyd

Tuesday 12th May

Phonics activity

Our sound of the day is ‘ear’ – Hear with your ear.

Go outside and sit really quietly. How can you write down all the different things that you can hear with your little ear? Can you put them into sentences?

I can hear….

Literacy activity

In the story 'Zog', the princess dreams of being something else when she grows up. Can you write a dream for yourself when you grow up? What do you want to be and why? Be creative...you could draw a picture and write some sentences or film yourself. Perhaps you could create your own book telling the story!

Numeracy activity

Pearl keeps a lot of things in her handbag. At home find an empty matchbox or a similar sized container and go around your house and put as many things as you can in the matchbox/container. Mr.Williams did it and could fit 14 things in it. How many things do you think Mrs Marten could fit in hers? Ask your family to estimate how many things you had in yours and maybe make the winner a special certificate!

Perhaps make a list of all of the things in your container - if you wanted to you could weigh or measure the length of each object too!
