Always Aiming High – Anelu’n Uchel O Hyd

Dydd Iau 21st May

Class 3 - mrs.lincoln-jones@ewloegreencps.co.uk

Class 4 - miss.hughes@ewloegreencps.co.uk

This week we have decided to do something a little bit different. Instead of a Welsh song, we are going to learn a Welsh story! If you would like to read the story for our Year group video, please send your teacher a video of you reading the book by FRIDAY LUNCHTIME - diolch!

Please note the word 'y' is pronounced as 'uh'.

We look forward to hearing your super Welsh!

Ar y... (On the...)

Task 1 - In Wales, we have some yummy Welsh foods. Could you follow a Welsh recipe? Here are some ideas:

  • Cacen gri

  • Bara brith

  • Cawl cennin a thatws (Leek and potato soup)

Extension - If you are unable to complete this task, can you research Welsh foods? What food is Wales famous for?

Task 2 - Can you estimate how many hours each task would take from the list below?

e.g Un awr, pump awr etc.

Hour in welsh is also very easy....: awr

1. Climb Snowdon

2. Drive to Cardiff

3. Row across Bala lake

4. Look around St Giles Church.

Extension - Can you write down things that would take you 'un awr' to complete?

What about 'dau awr', 'tri awr', 'pedwar awr'?

Our sounds of the day are ‘ou’ (Shout it out) and ‘ow’ (Brown Cow).

Task 3 - Can you sort these words into two groups – sounds with ‘ou’ and sounds with ‘ow’?

Shout / brown / out / cow / loud / sound / found / now / pow / down / mound.
