To all of Class 5, parents and carers....

I would like to say a huge Diolch yn fawr for everything over this past term. I have thoroughly enjoyed teaching all of the children and will miss them all lots! Thank you for the lovely, thoughtful gifts - it is amazing to have your support and best wishes, and it is very much appreciated. smiley

Finally, have a wonderful Christmas and New Year, and hopefully I will see you all again very soon!

We all had a fantastic time at the Year 1 & 2 Christmas party, with cookies, juice, dancing, pass the parcel, musical statues and much more! Well done to all the children, I'm glad you had fun!

We are SUPER PROUD of ALL the children for their performances during the Christmas production this week. I am sure everyone agrees that they did a great job and we are all very impressed!

What a fantastic way to end our first term!

 

Next week we have our Christmas party on Tuesday afternoon - children are now to come into school in school uniform, with Friday now being assigned as an own clothes day! Diolch!

The children had lots of fun on Thursday at the Pantomime, enjoying the bus journeys, conga-ing during the show and even having the opportunity for a Q&A session with the actors afterwards! Bradley and Ethan decided to make dens on the bus on the journey back frown

Showtime in Class 5!

A very musical week in Class 5! I am super impressed with everyone's performances and efforts to learn their lines for our Christmas production! Da Iawn! We also had lots of fun with Key Strings!

A super busy week in Class 5! The children have enjoyed getting together with the Year 6s for anti-bullying week and creating some colourful plate decorations. Not to mention 'Pudsey day' also known as Children in Need on Friday!

A busy week so far in Dosbarth 5! Lots of outdoor numeracy taking place, as well as poppy making in forest school and dressing up for the green screen.

It's been a busy week for visitors in Year 2!

On Monday we had the RSPCA come into class to talk to us about how to care for our pets, being compassionate and what animals need to be well looked after. Thank you to the RSPCA Wrexham and Deeside for coming to see us! Check out their Facebook page to see photos of Class 5 and 6. smiley

 

On Wednesday we had the Village Vets come in with Giggsy the dog - what an amazing little guy! The children were able to listen to his heartbeat, guess the animals and injuries from the x-rays, dress up for surgery and also bandage up Giggsy! Diolch yn fawr to the Village Vets (and Giggsy!) for a lovely visit! frown

Lots of independent maths addition, as well as sorting the animals in different ways using the sorting hoops.

Kaylee was drawing and labelling, whilst James was practising his capital letters independently as well as telling us why his Nanny's dog is special to him. smiley

Harrison and the rest of the class thoroughly enjoyed colouring in their 'mariposa' by following the Spanish colours - a great challenge this week! mail

Sophie and Mayah, and lots of others, were creating their own pets in the construction area, and Evie gave me a lovely surprise when she uploaded a picture describing how special Miss Gill is! heart

Lots of animal antics this week, with a visit from Mrs Wilkes and her tortoises - Lightning and Bolt! Thank you Mrs Wilkes! The children were able to ask lots of questions and find out all kinds of information. Lightning and Bolt stayed with us most of the day and helped us in our Literacy lesson! surprise

 

Then we had a lovely visit from Lili - Mrs Jones' dog! What a busy morning she had visiting all the classes and making friends! She didn't want to leave to go back home, so is welcome back any time! The children have been asking for a puppy visit for weeks, so this was a lovely Friday treat - thank you Mrs Jones!

Our class assembly this week was all about 'Growing'. The children were super at performing their lines and actions to the rest of Foundation Phase, with many of class 5 deciding that they want to be teachers or scientists when they are older! heartno

The children have also been carrying out lots of measuring this week, from working with Miss Gill in class to working together to measure different items outdoors with Mrs Jones.

Another busy week in Class 5 with lots of outdoor learning and activities!

We took part in the sponsored obstacle course on Wednesday, thank you all so much sponsoring the children. It was an action packed afternoon which all the children thoroughly enjoyedsmiley

We have been using our maths skills in other areas over the past couple of weeks.

The children worked in teams in P.E. and had to keep their team scores, as well as getting into groups according to sums!

Whilst, Kaylee and some of her friends worked hard to match the Spanish numbers to their words and later put them in order.

What a busy few weeks so far in Class 5! 

 

The children have enjoyed being outside - acting out their pet stories and the  story of Mog and the VET, as well as using the bikes in the outdoor area. Lots of fun being had in these photos, with videos of the children acting being played to the rest of the class.
