Whilst it is important to try and help your child with their learning, we appreciate that this is an exceptionally difficult time for everybody, so our main priority is that your child is safe and happy at home. We encourage child led learning as part of our curriculum, so would love you to give your children some time each day to use the toys, art materials, blocks, puzzles and games they have at home as they see fit! We will upload daily literacy, phonics and numeracy activities for children to complete. We will also give ideas for creative activities, and encourage you where possible to support your children in learning ‘life skills’ and developing independence, whether that be helping prepare meals, doing the dishes, helping with chores and cleaning, gardening, washing the car...the list is endless!
As said above, if there’s anything you need, please send us a message.

Reading books will be changed on Mondays starting on 14th September. Please return your child’s reading book and reading log each Friday in their book bag. Unfortunately, with the current times we cannot send reading books home over the weekend. However, feel free to use your child’s own books to continue reading with them. Please aim to read with your child every weeknight if you can (even if it's just one or two pages). The more you read, the better! Please note that we will read a different school book with your child during the week.
Our P.E days are Wednesday and Friday. Please send your children in to school in their P.E kit, they will stay in their kit all day. At the moment P.E session will be held outside, therefor, please send your child in appropriate clothing that is suitable for all weather conditions.
School can provide snack and is payable to the office termly. If you would rather send in home snack then please can you clearly label with your child's name, you can put it in a sandwich bag to make it easy to dispose of. Ewloe Green is a Healthy School so all snack must be of a healthy choice. We will also provide your child with a water bottle for them to access throughout the day.
We have been trailing a new cursive handwriting scheme and will be continuing with it this year. The below document shows the formation animals we will be using to assist the children to learn and remember the correct letter formation. We will be teaching the children a letter a week in the order of the letters on the document. This half term we will begin by working through the 'ladder' family.
