Week 1 - 10/01/20

Happy New Year everyone! We hope you had a fantastic Christmas Holidays and enjoyed every single moment. It has been fantastic to see the children and hear all their lovely Christmas stories this week. We have loved learning about the story of Little Red Riding Hood this week. We have also had our assembly today and discussed what new years resolutions are - we even made some of our own! The children shared their best memory of 2019, which we all loved hearing. Have a good weekend everyone!

Week 2 - 17/01/20
What a fantastic week we have had! The children have loved forest schools and the outdoors for PE this week. This week, we have continued to learn about little red riding hood. We have even made some yummy pies, enjoy! Please can I remind you to bring appropriate clothing for forest schools and for outdoor PE. Old clothes for forest schools are needed and warm clothes for PE outdoors. Enjoy your weekend!

Week 3 - 24/01/20

What a brilliant week! We have continued our topic of fairytales and learnt all about a great traditional welsh story - Bedd Gelert. It is such a sad story but we have learnt a lot about making mistakes and learning from them. We have also enjoyed completing our daily mile on the playground and keeping fit. As it is Dydd Santes Dwynwen tomorrow, we have enjoyed learning all about celebrating love. The children have used their fantastic craft skills to create a giant tissue paper heart, made cards for their loved ones and even had a look at some welsh love spoons!

Week 4 - 31/01/20

We have had a fantastic week learning all about Uganda! We have discovered where Africa is on a map and compared the size of Africa to the UK. Did you know Africa has 54 countries?! The children have learnt lots about refugees in Uganda and have really realised how lucky they are. The children have really impressed me this week with how creative they are. They have made the Ugandan flag from various resources and even been super creative with their homework too - we even had a Snowdonia cake made by one of the children for their homework.

Week 5 - 07/02/20

We have had a brilliant week in class 4! Firstly, I’d like to thank you for your kind donations, it was lovely to see the children in all their red clothes for charity. This week, we have planned and carried out a materials investigation. The children chose what material they wanted to use as a group, to build their own three little pigs houses. They then tested their houses in the wind! and of course, with some ‘rain’ too! They absolutely loved it - we had so much fun! The children have also learnt their number bonds to 10, I’m sure you’ve heard the song. I will attach the link below:

‘I Know My Number Bonds’

Number bonds for 10 song. Number bonds are simply the pairs of numbers that make up a given number. Number bonds can also be called number partners or number pairs. Number bonds are a very important foundation for understanding how numbers work. Number bonds create fluency for composing and decomposing numbers for addition and subtraction.

Week 6 - 14/02/20

First of all, Happy Valentine’s Day everyone! Class 4 have loved celebrating Valentine’s Day in school today. This week we have had so much fun and laughter, it has been a fantastic last week of term. As you can see in the pictures, we’ve had so much fun in the outdoors. Children have absolutely loved jumping in muddy puddles during forest schools. We have also tried to do our daily mile much more often and enjoyed some fresh air, playing with the tyres outside! We have focussed this week on materials and what the three little pigs used to build their houses. The children were able to sort the materials into groups. Lastly, I would like to say a huge thank you for your fantastic efforts with some very creative homework! I have thoroughly enjoyed seeing your drawings, writing, models and emails of fantastic work. Class 4 you are the best, I hope you have an amazing week off. Enjoy and stay safe! ☺️
