Always Aiming High – Anelu’n Uchel O Hyd

Welcome to Nursery!

Week Beginning 12/6/17

On Tuesday we went on an adventure! We dressed up as our favourite animals and we went for a safari walk on the school yard and field. On our way we met up with lots of big boys and girls from our school and we stopped for a chat with the chicks, we couldn't believe just how much they have grown!

Week begining 2-5-17

In Nursery this week we have been have been investigating compost in the water tray, we have had beans and seeds to plant into pots. We have all really enjoyed this and we are going to continue investigating next week.

On Wednesday the chicks came down to Nursery for the day, we all took turns to look at the chicks and we loved listening to the little noises that they made. We hope that they will visit us again soon.

Also, on Wednesday we went down to the field to start to practise for sports day. The sun was shining and it was lovely to be outside, we all did very well - we stayed in the lanes and cheered each other on. I think we are all looking forward to going out again next week.

Week begining 24-4-17.

Welcome back, we hope that you all had a lovely school holiday. Our topic for this half term is 'What's growing?' We started by learning all about frogs and how they grow, in the writing area with Mrs. Lloyd we looked at tadpoles pictures. We put our pencil on the dot and followed the line all the way to the tadpole, at the end of the activity we counted the tadpoles.

With Mrs. Hughes we had a lovely chat all about our holiday from school and then we wrote down a sentence about our adventures. We are going to put this into our 'Busy books' next week.

On the cutting and sticking table with Mrs. Pritchard we made lots and lots of frogs for our speckled frog display. We have worked hard this week.

We hope you have a lovely bank holiday weekend.

Week beginning 3-4-17

This week we have been very busy, we have been learning the Easter story - listening to the story from the Bible and watching a powerpoint presentation too. We have all listened very carefully and can remember lots of details from the Easter story.

We have been working outside with Mrs. Lloyd, we have had a number egg hunt - it was lots of fun! Inside the classroom we have been busy making our Easter cards. We had a little competition and Max won an Easter egg. Congratulations Max!

The Nursery staff would like to thank you for your support over the term and wish you a very happy Easter holiday.

Week beginning - 6-2-17

We started our week with a Forest schools session. We put on our coats and hats and walked to the junior yard. In a basket we took our bird feeders that we had made last week. We placed the feeders in the trees near the junior yard and in the nature garden.

Week beginning – 9/1/17.

We started our week with our ‘Forest school’ session, this week we had a good look at the clothing that we wear in the winter time and then headed out for a winter walk. We looked around the school for signs of winter – we noticed some trees had no leaves on and the weather was cold. Next we each found an object that reflected winter, when we returned to nursery we made a winter garland for our corridor display
