During the summer term we were planning on visiting Chester Zoo, so we thought why not learn all about Chester Zoo from home this week?!
This week we would like you to dance along to the song
'Can y Sw!'
When you see the different animals on the screen, can you dance like those animals! We would love to see clips of your animal dancing!
Remember to ask Mummy or Daddy to send the videos to your teacher by Friday lunch time at the latest!
Task 1 -
As you may already know, Chester Zoo is currently struggling financially. The zoo is the biggest and most popular charity zoo, they have tried to stay positive during this pandemic.
The conservationists have continued to prevent extinction, the virtual days have cheered up the nation, and their home learning resources have helped thousands of home-schooling families.
Miss Hughes has helped the zoo by adopting one of the animals - An Asian Elephant.
If you could adopt an animal, what animal would it be and why?
If you fancy a challenge, you could design a poster to help save the zoo? Maybe you could stick it up in your window?
Task 2
Chester zoo is the biggest and most popular charity zoo.
A charity does nice things for people, animals or things.
This week, we would like you to challenge yourself to do 5 nice things a day for someone else.
It could be:
Do the washing up
Draw a picture for an elderly neighbour
Sing a song to someone
Write someone a nice letter
or you could think of your own…
Colour in your animal chart, or you could even create your own. Colour in one animal each day for every nice thing you do for someone else.
Task 3
And of course, you still need to work on your special Read, Write, Inc sounds too!
Our sounds of the day are ‘or’ (shut the door) and ‘aw’ (yawn at dawn).
Can you put these words into sentences?
Can you create a family of aliens. Give them all an alien name using the sounds ‘or’ and ‘aw’.
e.g. Plor , Gaw , Thawm
