Bore da everyone. We hope you had a great weekend. Did you go for a walk or a bike ride, did you have a treasure hunt in the garden, have a barbecue or bake something delicious? Let us know what you did. Here is today’s work:
Phonics
Today we have 3 different ways to make the same sound:
ay. (May I play)
a-e (make a cake)
ai (snail in the rain)
Make 3 columns with the sounds above and write words in each column. Here are some words to start you off but then try to think of some of your own:
shake stay tail whale day play tape hail
Then draw a cake and write down all the ingredients you would put in it. Be as crazy as you want. Mr. Williams would put in peanut butter, chocolate, strawberry jam, mustard and currants. I LOVE all of these. Mmmmmmmmm πππ
Literacy
Verbs (doing words)
Think of all the things your are good at and write a few sentences.
Then write a sentence for each other person in your house about what they are good at.
If you can, write your sentences on your desk top, lap top or I pad.
Here are some examples:
I am good at swimming.
My mum is good at driving.
My dad is good at playing hide and seek.
Numeracy Half Past
Draw some clocks and draw some times showing half past (half past 3, half past 8, half past 10) etc.
Remember, when you draw a clock, draw the 12 first, then the 6, then the 9 and the 3 and then fit in the rest of the numbers. This will make it easier to make sure all the numbers are in the correct place on the clock.
Also remember that when you draw half past, the big hand is on the 6 but the little hand should be half way between two numbers.
Underneath each clock write the correct time. Practice writing the number half as well as the word.
And finally........Mr.Williams’ REALLY REALLY funny joke about time.
What time is it when an elephant sits on your sofa?
TIME TO GET A NEW SOFA.
Hahahahahahahahahahahaha ππππ
If you can think of a better joke about time. Let us know.
Mrs Marten can...
Why did a boy throw his clock out of his window?
BECAUSE HE WANTED TO SEE TIME FLY!
