A busy first week back after the half term holiday!
Had our flue vaccinations
Been visited by 'Key Strings' who delivered a fantastic assembly
Remembered those who lost their lives during the war in a remembrance service - thank you to all those who bought poppies.
Made firework pictures using natural mateirals in Forest Schools
Continued to develop our coordination through ball skills in PE
Created 'Wanted Posters' for Guy Fawkes
Thought about our new topic - Spark in the Dark, and thought about what we would like to find out and how.
As well as this...
Numeracy - Following on from one more/less we have been writing and solving addition number sentences. Some of us even used number to 30!
Literacy - After reading the story of The Gunpowder Plot we ordered it and worked out which words were missing.
Creative development - We have made firework pictures using metallic crayons and glitter.
Finally, we have introduced the children to the play we will be taking part in for the annual Christmas show - Prickly Hay. Over the next few weeks we will be learning the different songs, a copy of these will be sent out next week.
*** Costumes - we would like all the children to be dressed as cowboys/cowgirls. *** More information to follow.
Reminder - Please can you send back in your child's named water bottle if you haven't already done so. Thank you!
Have a lovely weekend :-)
