Always Aiming High – Anelu’n Uchel O Hyd

Week Beginning 22nd January 2018

This week we are focusing on fractions, finding halves and quarters of 2D shapes and starting to think about finding halves and quarters of numbers too!

Love is in the air! We are learning all about Santes Dwynwen in preparation for Santes Dwynwen day on Friday! We have been exploring the Welsh story, thinking about prayers she could have said and three other wishes she could make! We have also developed our map skills by exploring Llandwyn Island and other Welsh towns on a map of Wales, recapping our work on compass directions. We have also had a great time trying to rescue Maelon from a block of ice, timing how long it takes to release him and thinking about ways we could reduce the time taken to melt the ice!

We are looking forward to our trip on Tuesday! Please remember to bring your packed lunch in a disposable bag and to wear your uniform with comfortable shoes too! Miss Cross will be coming on the trip with you!

We have been exploring poetry in language this week and creating some fabulous winter poems to match our wonderful art work we completed last week. We have also been completing guided reading in Welsh this week and Mrs Marten has been really impressed with our ability to read and translate Welsh words - ardderchog!!!
