This week we have been learning all about Chinese New Year, as we were busy learning about A Midsummer's Nights Dream last week. We have listened to the story of the animals and learnt about how Chinese New Year is celebrated, we made new years wished, tried Chinese food and even found China on a map.
The children have been learning how to count in 2's, 5's and 10's in maths, we have played games, sang songs and wrote our numbers.
We have been making our own fairy tale villain's in language and we have described them. The children enjoyed working in groups to make different parts of villains.
In forest school we made our own Chinese dragons and even enjoyed some hot chocolate.
It is the last week of half term and we are planning on learning how to count in groups, we will be thinking about how we can make sensible estimations and group items before we count them.
In language we are going to learn what a sentence needs and what makes a good sentence. We will be making silly sentences and becoming mini teachers and correcting some mistakes.
In topic we will be looking back over the half term and evaluating what we have learnt and done.
In PE we will be finishing our dances to perform to the rest of the class.
