What we have been doing this week.
Wow! We have had an amazing week and visit from 'Everything Dinosaur' the children learnt so much from the experience. They had the opportunity to see real fossils and dinosaur teeth as well as moving like real dinosaurs. The children enjoyed it so much they wrote about their experience in their challenge books. Dinosaur Mike was fantastic at teaching the children and he even left us with some great resources to continue using.
In language the children hot-seated Harry from the book, they thought about what questions they could ask him and what answers he might have said.
The children had a great time in forest school, they found that the dinosaur egg had hatched and left a note, he has escaped and will keep in touch via e-mail. The children think he got our e-mail address from their lost posters.
What we will be doing next week.
Next week we will be measuring in our maths, we will be using dinosaur feet, cubes and even toilet roll. The children will decide what they want to measure.
We will be writing our story ending for Harry and the Bucketful, we have been working towards this for the last few weeks.
In our topic we are researching Mary Anning and what she did to impact our history. The children will be making their own fact file about her.
Who knows..... we may get an email from our lost dinosaurs!
