What have we been doing this week?
This week we have been focusing on the story ‘The Tempest’ by William Shakespeare. We have listened and watched the play and have been busy doing lots of activities. We made the storm using crayons, paint and glitter. Theses look amazing and the children have done a fantastic job creating them. The children have been outside making the music for the very noisy storm, using our musical instruments. They have been investigating all about William Shakespeare and who he was, and why he is so famous. They created a mind map of all the things they have learnt about him.
In maths this week we have been learning how to write our numbers using words. We have looked at the spellings and how to read them.
In Welsh we have been learning about different types of foods.
What will we be doing next week?
Next week we will be continuing with the play ‘The Tempest’. We will be making puppets to act out the play. We will be making shape poems about the storm in the play. During PE we will be making a dance to go with the play and the music.
As Easter is fast approaching, we will be making Easter cards and learning about the story of Easter. The children will be trying to sequence the story in the correct order.
In maths we will be learning how to count in 2’s, 5’s and 10’s. We have some missing numbers to find and will be going outside to collect some natural objects to count in groups of 2’s, 5’s and 10’s.
In forest school we will be making our own seascape mobile dream catcher.
