This week we have been busy learning about our new topic, we have talked about what we already know and asked questions about what we what to find out We have thought about how we are going to find the answers to our questions.
In language we have been reading the story ‘Rumble in the Jungle’ and hot seating the characters. We have been making the music to accompany the sounds of the jungle animals in the story.
We have been describing the characters in the story using adjectives and even trying to use similies and alliteration.
In maths we have been learning about capacity and completing our capacity challenges. We have been investigating the capacity of the containers.
We have had our school photo this week and the children are looking forward to seeing this as they had individual photos taken only. They will be put together to make a whole school photo.
We have a very exciting week next week as we have our school trip to the zoo, you will have an email to give you more information on Monday. If your child has a Zoo pass please ensure this is given in on Monday, it will be kept in a safe until Thursday.
In our language we are writing our evaluation of year 1, thinking about two stars and a wish for next year. Children will be evaluating their art projects they created for homework.
In maths we will be working out how to subtract and taking numbers away. We will be playing maths tug of war playing adding against subtracting.
We won’t be doing forest school next week due to the school trip.
