This week we have been getting ready for year 2, we met our new teacher for next year and enjoyed spending Thursday morning in our new classrooms completing activities for our new teacher.
In maths this week we have been counting in 2’s, 5’s, 10’s and even 3’s. We have been counting the animals for Noah’s Ark.
In language we have been writing a re-count of our Chester Zoo visit, we wrote in the past tense and included adjectives and connectives.
In PE we enjoyed the nice weather and set up some activity stations and had a go at different PE skills, such as catching and throwing, rolling and hula hooping.
We have been getting ready for our year 1 assembly next week, we have been learning our song, painting a picture of our favourite memory and we have wrote a few words about our dreams for year 2.
Next week we will be shopping in our Safari shop and using money to buy some items. We will also be giving out change from a total amount. We will be taking part in a treasure hunt looking for different types of coins by following the clues.
In our language we will be planning how we can make a safari jeep, we will be making a jeep big enough for the children to get into the week after. The children will also be thinking about what they would take with them to the jungle and why. The children will be making a pic collage all about year 1 to take down to reception, to answer any of their questions.
We will be very busy getting ready for our final assembly of year 1. Both classes will perform an assembly all about their time in year one and their hopes and dreams for next year.
