This week's Star of the Week goes to Isabella! Well done, Isabella! 1

What have we been doing this week?

We've been learning to re-tell the Christmas nativity story. We've been sequencing pictures from the story and writing about it in our own words.

We've been continuing with our work on making Christmas wrapping paper by designing our own repeating patterns of 3 and 4. There have been some really beautiful designs!

We've been sharing stories about Christmas traditions in our families.

We went to see the Jungle Book production at the Unity Theatre. Mrs Partridge was delighted to hear children saying how much they'd enjoyed it!

WE enjoyed a delicious Christmas dinner in school - yum yum!

We've been learning to sing our Class 3 Christmas Carol 'O Christmas Tree'.

We watched a Carol service in the school hall, performed by students at Hawarden High School

We performed the Christmas carol 'O Christmas Tree' in the end of half term assembly.

What will we be doing next half term?

Children return to school on Tuesday 9th January.

Next half-term we will be continuing with our topic of 'Spark in the Dark'.

What will we be doing during our first week back?

Sharing oir Christmas news with the rest of the class.

Writing our Christmas news.

Choosing our own new year's resoltuions and thinking about what we need to do to keep them.

Writing about our resolutions.

Learning to tell the time to the hour and half hour on an analogue clock.

Using the Story Buddy app on the iPads to create our own ebooks about space and planets.

Starting a design and technology project to make a papier mache planet (if you have any newspapers you no longer need, they would be greatly appreciated!).

Do you have any magazines/comics that you have already read or no longer need? If so, we would love to add them to our class Reading Area so please bring them in to class after Christmas. Thank you!

Enjoying our Christmas dinners - yum yum!
